The Event Center (The Legacy) is a 20,000 sq. ft. facility that offers a 320 seat chapel for weddings, and a banquet hall complete with stage, bar, patio, commercial kitchen, and seating for receptions. The chapel and banquet hall are connected via an expansive breezeway that is aligned on axis with an antebellum home original to the Dant family that has been repurposed into a bed and breakfast. The patio structure on the East of the banquet hall is rotated 7 degrees to direct visitor’s views to the Rickhouses across the campus. In linking the building to these historic landmarks, the facility works to blend in with its surroundings while also serving as a campus-wide viewing apparatus for patrons.
